The GLBT bookstore Lambda Rising closed last month after 35 years. It was a Dupont Circle legend and also started the annual Gay Pride event in 1975. With GLBT books available easily at large chains and online the need for a specialist bookstore has declined in recent years. Read more of the story of the rise and setting of Lambda Rising here.
