Abundant Michael: Erotic

Bliss Beginners Tantra Intensive Sunday 4/3/11

Tantra is an ancient form of Yoga and is unlike most forms of Yoga today it is non-postural yet it activates, clears and balances the Chakras (energy centers) of the body.  When these centers are balanced, you feel more alive; you look more attractive and sexy, you manifest what you desire.

Tantra originates from 6000 year old Egyptian, Indian, and Tibetan practices that teach us what our bodies are capable of: more pleasure, agelessness.

Wouldn’t you want these benefits if you found the practices quick and easy?

Learn something new and transform your life.

Are you suffering from the relationship blues?

Many of the people who attend Bliss™ have come to a place in their relationships where they are feeling stuck or flat. Intimacy that may have been there has vanished.
Maybe you've seen some of these issues:
§ If you are a man, are you feeling too stressed to get it up? Or is it all unexpectedly over with before things even get warmed up?

§ If you are a woman, do you feel like your life is so busy that you have no time to be sexy? Are you just feeling bored in the bedroom?

§ If you are a women, would you like more time being ravished and less time with the "slam bam, thank you mam" approach of sexuality?

§ As a man or a woman, has past sexual abuse made intimacy challenging? Would you like some simple techniques that you can use to express yourself more sexually but aren't sure how yet?

§ Do you find yourself drinking or taking drugs to let loose sexually? Would you like to find ways to move past this?

These are the types of topics we cover during the Bliss™ workshop. Even with many of the topics feeling heavy, we have discovered simple ways to ease into covering the topics with fun together. (And at no time are you required to discuss any topic you don't wish to. We allow participants to move at their level of comfort.)
Bliss™ is tailored to helping participants to find the problems that are coming between them and their partner and doing simple exercises that help remove these obstacles.

A few of the things you'll get while attending Bliss™…

§ Find out how to prolong lovemaking. At the same time, we'll show you how to achieve deeper and more present in lovemaking, too. The process is simple and overlooked by most.

§ Learn to how use sexual energy to rejuvenate the body — using it to stimulate creativity and to also reverse the aging process!

But with Bliss™, we go even further than bedroom time — we look at what is holding you back as a person…
§ Feel great about yourself – happy, more attractive, self-confident, increase your capacity for more pleasure, experience joy and fulfillment as a way of life.

§ Be more healthy by finding out simple ways to eliminate stress along with toxins from your body. We will show you ways to become more safe and whole.

§ Create a more full life for yourself. We will show you easy ways to create intentions — finding a lover, a more fulfilling career, the money you deserve, along with less stress.

§ Learn to more easily navigate those challenging relationships in your life — family, friends, co-workers — anyone that challenges us.

Who attends Bliss™…

The people who have attended Bliss™ are both singles and couples. They are people who are ready to grow in their sexuality. They have come to a place in their lives where they aren't ready to settle — they want to grow, blossom, feel more.
Many couples have attended Bliss™ struggling with their relationship — and afterward, feel like they've been given a new lease on their connection. Our friend and student, Michele said this:
TESTIMONIAL

"Our marriage was on the rocks. We had visited three psychologists in the last six months with no success. A weekend with Laurie is all it took to finally find the triggers that were preventing us from being closer. Now we are like two kids in love again!
– Michelle, Ft. Lauderdale, FL

What you can expect when you attend Bliss™…

During the Bliss™ One-Day Intensive workshop, we will be sharing a number of fun group exercises together. While in the comfort of our private studio, we will sit and discuss the small things that create blocks in our life.

"There is great magic in seeing how body based wisdom such as Tantra can grow a person and turn him completely around for the better… Thank you for the gifts you gave me when I needed it the most."
–Wes Wolcott, Hemet, CA
We've found that one of the challenges that lovers often have is to move more deeply in lovemaking. We've created a series of easy and fun exercises that can be done as singles or pairs that help people touch the right places in themselves and each other.
Note: even though this course covers our human sexuality, all participants will remained clothed throughout the course and we have a strict "no sexual contact rule" in effect throughout the workshop.

  • “If I could distill all my advice about Tantra and sex into one sentence, that sentence would be, Make love in the unknown. In answer to all your fears and doubts about sex, I’d simply say to you, bring back your beginner’s mind. Come to the bedroom with no expectation. Tantric Tourists 3/30/11 - Wed Gathering in Rockville

This Wednesday Sandbox gathering we do some Tantric exercises with Laurie Handlers and watch her new movie "Tantric Tourists". (And Laurie is teaching a one day workshop Intro to Tantra called "Bliss" on Sunday 4/3/2011 in Washington DC.)

Tantric Tourists” is a “mocumentary” film which follows internationally acclaimed Tantra Teacher and author, Laurie Handlers around India as she leads an eclectic group of tantric seekers through a myriad of tourist oriented sights & experiences- all in search of reaching the blissful state (Tantric) of diving fearlessly into “The Unknown”.

So great to have the STAR of Tantric Tourists in the neighborhood here in Arizona. Laurie takes us along on this all too human archetypal journey offshore to find the thing that dwells within. It’s all about roll, roll, roll with the flow.Or should I say flap, flap, flap. Congratulations Laurie on a gem of movie!

John of God cold turkey, meditating at Lake Titicaca, new digs

As Valentines day draws near and following the amazing Erotic Reading Night Sandbox we turn to the shadow side of Eros. Just like alcohol, drugs, food, TV it is possible to be addicted to sex. To use it as a distraction from the "now" and from connecting with others and spirit. I have been there myself - using masturbation as stress relief and a way to avoid thinking about my problems for a few minutes. I remember breaking this addiction when after seeing John of God for a spiritual surgery the post surgery instructions said no spicy food, no alcohol and no sexual excitement for 40 days. Not even no sex, beyond that to no sexual excitement. During the 40 days I got close to bringing the "bottle" of fantasy near to drinking a few times but avoiding swallowing. And learned other ways of shifting stuck energy and releasing stress (or avoiding it in the first place!) - such as yoga, meditation and enough sleep.

Meanwhile here in Bolivia week 4 I visited Lake Titicaca last weekend nd stayed a night on the Isle del Sol where according to Inca legend the Sun was born. The beautiful azure colored waters, strong sun and high altitude (12000 feet) plus the deep spiritual energy of the land all helped me feel that I was closer to the sun and ready for lift off! There are no cars on the island - but lots of animals grazing or working carrying loads up the steep hills - donkeys, llamas, sheep, pigs. It was nice to breath fresh air (La Paz can be a bit polluted) and was a game to side step the piles of poop from the animals! I had an amazing meditation experience on top of the island - feeling one with all, prana flow up and down my spine. On retuning I moved out of my friend's Jamila's house in the mountains on edge of La Paz and into the city center to live with a new friend Vicky who does Reiki, The Reconnection and other energy healing and spiritual work. I am paying B$ 840 per month for rent and utilities - that is USD $120. Economically it is cheaper to live abroad than in US. And with Skype and gotomypc it is no problem to run my US businesses from here. If you interested in more details of how to do this whether you have a job or your own business I suggest you read the" 4 hour work week" by Tim Ferris...

Sex Addiction in Sex-positive Culture 2/16/11 - Wed Gathering in Rockville

This Wednesday Sandbox gathering we join Anita Wagner will speak about and facilitate discussion on the topic Sex Addiction in Sex-positive Culture and the Shadow Side of Eros.

The proliferation and availability of pornography and other forms of sex-for-pay via the internet has caused the numbers of people suffering from sex addiction, a/k/a sexual compulsion, to skyrocket. More and more individuals and couples seek counseling because one partner is disinterested in sexual intimacy with the other and instead favors long periods of time viewing online pornography and engaging in masturbation. This often escalates to cyber sex, online affairs, and then to secretive behaviors away from home, i.e. one night stands, anonymous sex parties, and hiring sex workers.

So what is sex addiction? What does it look like and what are the challenges for sex addicts and their partners, especially within sex-positive culture? Is it even possible to be sex-positive AND be a sex addict?

Getting treatment that is non-judgmental and non-shaming is a great challenge. There rages great controversy amongst clinicians as to whether sex addiction exists. Many prefer the term "sexual compulsion" and believe it to be more accurate and less pejorative than "sex addiction." It is certainly less controversial.

Come hear about and join the discussion on this highly misunderstood topic as we explore its various social, spiritual, clinical and deeply painful personal aspects.

Anita Wagner is a widely known and well-respected relationship skills educator, coach and speaker. She offers a wide range of educational resources and advocacy information via her PracticalPolyamory.com website and blog. The workshop begins after dinner at 8pm. I invite you to join us, though as always what ever choice you make you will be honored in.

Kink friendly events compared

Here is my take on various kink friendly events

All these events are ok to attend as a single and many singles do attend. There are lots of workshops and rituals you can attend either single or partnered at all of them. I would guess about 50% of attendees are single.

Here are some comparisons - I am interested in what others think too

Event Size When Cost Ages Kinks   Who Notes
DOWF 1000     20-80 BDSM, Poly, Trans, pagan - all kinks represented and respected Friendly, welcoming to newbies Greg
DOSC 500     20-80 BDSM, Poly, Trans, pagan - all kinks represented and respected " Greg

NFNC
Network for New Culture.
80 Weekend event during year. Summer Camps in July and August So including all meals, a weekend events are usually $50-$150 (sliding scale), a 10 day event is $500-$1000 (sliding scale), and for those who cannot afford even that, scholarships are usually generous and easily available. 20-80 Poly, sex positive Very supportive, expects you to grow and supports you when buttons are pushed Michael and Sarah

NFNC stands for the Network For a New Culture, a grassroots non-organization devoted to personal growth, social change, and intimate community  (www.nfnc.org).  New Culture hosts a variety of events, as well as creating an ongoing community of folks who value transparency, sex-positivity, personal choice and freedom, sustainability, intimacy, and more  (http://cfnc.us/newculture.html).    There is a strong sense of extended family, or “tribe”, among folks who have participated in New Culture events.  Strong friendship networks and intimate connections often form during events, and these connections are nurtured in a variety of ways so that they become part of a person’s everyday life.

The events are all-volunteer, and costs are kept as low as possible; while there are transformative workshops and powerful experiences at these events, they are meant to be part of a new way of living, loving and celebrating, not just isolated “escapes” from regular life.

New Culture Summer Camp East will be July 8-17, 2011 (www.cfnc.us).

New Culture weekends occur frequently; here are the dates and locations of the ones that are already set for 2011:

January 7-9 in Arlington VA

February 25-27 in Plainfield MA

March 25-27 in Kinnelon NJ (near NYC)

There are a variety of other evening, day-long, and weekend New Culture events throughout the year.  We have an announcements list for these events that anyone interested in New Culture events can be added to; just send the request to [email protected].

There are many New Culture groups around the US and Canada, including Boston, Toronto, New York, Philadelphia, DC, Seattle, Eugene OR, Oakland, Santa Cruz, and San Diego.  Some of the major events are:

Spring Camp in Santa Cruz in April (4 days)

Summer Camp West in southern Oregon in August (10 days)  http://www.nfnc.org/sc/

Fall Camp near Seattle in September (8 days)

CBT 9/22/10 - Wed Gathering in Rockville

This Wednesday Sandbox gathering we learn about CBT - "cock and ball torture", or maybe for you "cock and ball teasing" or "cock and ball tickling". It all depends on how far to your edge you want to go. As always it needs to be Safe, Sane and Consensual. We want every one to go home with the same number of healthy parts that they arrived with! Some of the fun may be in mind play and role play. An active imagination is always good for BDSM play!

Photo from CBT: Cock-and Ball Torture in a Nutshell by Lolita Wolf Why do CBT? The penis is very sensitive so you can get a lot of effect from (relatively) gentle bondage and discipline. The testicles are often left out of play, so new sensations can be experienced when the balls come into play. Teabagging (ball sucking) vs cocksucking come to mind. To many people the balls are a sacred or taboo area, so teasing them can bring up all kinds of interesting reactions. Some in the BDSM community speculate that torturing a man's genitals is directly related to sexual control issues while others argue that torturing a male's sex organs addresses the ego. I would imagine that each man has his own reason for desiring this type of torture. In some earlier cultures, a man's testicles were held as being very sacred and, in some instances, oaths were given while holding a man's testicles in the hand. And, in some countries, squeezing a man's testicles could lead to the perpetrator losing their hand. Fortunately that is not the case here!

What toys might be used for CBT? The hands, nails, lips and teeth are good places to start providing sensation. Silk, fur and leather may feel good to rub with. Rope or rubber to tie and constrict might be what you are into. Cock rings of rubber or metal or chastity devices turn some on. Dress up your cock and balls with a stocking. Or maybe a good squeeze is what is required in a perspex vice... Clothes pins cause intense sensations. Perhaps you want to shave the hair off for more tactile sensation. Heat and ice give their own set of sensations. We will leave fire out of the mix for this evening (but watch out for a fire play session in October...) and of course we just did a hot wax play Sandbox last month. So it will be heating pads and ice if you like temperature play on you manhood.

You don't have to come with a partner for this event and if you are female and want to pack your own cock and balls to be played with that is cool too. Or just come along  to watch and learn. If you want to be a demo bottom for this event email me off list.

The playshop begins after dinner at 8pm.  I invite you to join us, though as always what ever choice you make you will be honored in.

Wed Gathering in Rockville - Hot Wax Play 8/18/10

This Wednesday Sandbox gathering we explore hot wax play. There is something erotic about hot wax dripping onto your body - first overcoming the fear, the sting of the heat, then the spreading sensation as the wax cools and hardens. A crust forms on your skin, protecting against the next wax drop, but also constricting movement. You might start on the chest or belly, but more daring is hot wax on the nipples. When you are done the wax is removed with a blunt knife and ice, giving you a permanent body mold.

Safety is very important with hot wax and we will control the temperature of the wax to avoid burning. Using a crokpot to heat the wax with a thermometer to test it. Plus we will have ice on hand to cool things off if needed. A wise tip is for the pourer to test the wax on the back of their hand first before pouring on someone else.

The playshop begins after dinner at 8pm.  I invite you to join us, though as always what ever choice you make you will be honored in.

Wed Gathering in Rockville - Sex as a celebration 4/7/10

This Wednesday Sandbox gathering we learn about sex as a celebration with Tantra teacher Om Rupani from NYC. The word 'Celebration' to me epitomizes human abundance.  It is a state marked by lavishness, sharing and joy.  Our celebrations hallmark what we cherish, what we want to preserve and nourish in our lives, in our relationships and in our culture.

So what does it take to make our sex into a celebration?

Come explore the possibilities!

This evening will start of with a few ideas and discussions and exercises to explore the notion.  Where it ends up will depend partly on you the participants.  Come play!---as much as you want, from any position that you want.  It's all perfect.

Om is a photographer and a sex educator.  He shoots fashion and portraits of beautiful women by day and teaches people how to have better sex by night. He was born and raised in the great city of Bombay/Mumai.  Like many other sensible Indian lads he started his career in the direction of engineering and medicine, but then the Muse called and that was that.

He has been with the same fabulous woman for 21 years.  He started studying sexuality and relationships some years back mainly to make his own life better and sweeter and more vibrant.  Along the way that student heard the call to teach and share and hold space for others.

He was the director of the NY branch of OneTaste Urban Retreat Center for over a year and taught all their courses on sexuality, communication, and Orgasmic Meditation.  He has studied Tantra with various wonderful teachers.  His two biggest philosophical/spiritual influences are Osho and Eckhart Tolle.

His teaching style combines psychological insight with hands-on sensual practices.  His goal for his students is to help them become Masterful at Giving and Masterful at Receiving---and face and play with all the monsters they encounter along the way.

The workshop begins after dinner at 8pm.  I invite you to join us, though as always what ever choice you make you will be honored in.

Wednesday Gathering in Rockville - Male Member 3/24/10

This Wednesday Sandbox gathering we join Whittney is learning new ways to pleasure your male's member.

Space is limited - Please RSVP here.

Do you love your Male's Member? Here's a way to show him. Bring your male, and his member, to learn new ways to stoke his... ego. The techniques you learn in this hands-on workshop are culled from a variety of teachings, relying heavily on Taoist techniques of male self pleasure (masturbation). Getting to the root of the matter, this class teaches physical techniques and breath work to get his whole body focused on what you are doing to him.

Participants are encouraged to prearrange who they will be partnered with for the class.  Pairing up at the class is possible but not guaranteed.  Paired participants must have at least one functioning penis between them for the active partner to practice on.  Solo female attendees will be asked to find a partner or withdraw from the class.   Solo male attendees may find a partner at the class or participate in the class practicing on themselves.  (This class is hands on only - no voyeurs). This class is limited to 40 participants.

Please bring towels or mats to lay on for comfort and to help keep the space clean. Lots of massage oil (coconut oil) is used in this class so bring soap and a clean towel if you wish to wash up afterwards.
