How to use mantra to stay positive in a crazy world

Mantra can help you stay positive when things appear to be falling apart around you. This video by Harijiwan dispels some of the concerns that people may have about using mantra and includes a short talk by Yogi Bhajan on practicing mantras.

The mantra he mentions ( "Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad") is designed for the Aquarian Age, and chanting this mantra will amplify the mind. It can help you manifest your positive thoughts or negative ones. But don't worry -  the negative current is there to remind us of the positive current, so if you find yourself becoming negative just get back to the positive!

Lightening the load and miracles

Happy Equinox! And Happy Spring (or Fall if you are south of the equator like me)! It has been a while since my last email - I spent a month in Cusco Peru which was wonderful. More on that another time. This time I want to share my experiences in lightening my emotional/spiritual load and creating miracles.

Since I decided to live in South America and sell my house in USA I emptied out all my stuff, sold some, gave a bunch away to friends and in a mega freecycle give away and kept a few things in storage. I even managed to give 80% of my 3000 book collection away to a retreat center to be a library for visitors. That one was a bit of a challenge because as you might be able to tell I have a bit of a book habit! Also purged out clothes I didn't wear, didn't fit or no longer liked. 20 large garbage bags full of clothes went to charity. And furniture, my CDs and LPs. Car being sold.

I feel a lot lighter emotionally - there was SO much energy I was storing in my stuff - old emotions, other peoples morphic field pieces that were broken off, probably some collective consciousness too. I got a lot of help from other healings in releasing my attachments.

Now I am wondering how much of the stuff I kept in storage I really want to ship here. The 80/20 rule applies - I use 20% of my stuff 80% of the time and the other 80% I only use 20% of the time. Just keep that 20%... Fortunately I had Alison and Kim who helped me declutter and pack, photograph and catalog the contents of the boxes that I stored, so it will be easier to select items to ship if I want to.

I am at La Paz airport right now because there is an indigenous indian protest planned for Thursday to block all the roads to the airport so I decided to spend the night here instead of risking missing my 6:50am flight to Paraguay. You can pretty much figure there will be one protest or another in La Paz each week - people here are used to it and I guess I am too now! This week there will be 3-4 protests - I think there is an increase of anger in a global morphic field or something. I noticed I got angry with my travel agent when none of my credit cards would work to buy a ticket even though there was enough balance for them to work, my bank said they were fine to use in Bolivia and I had used them successfully at the same travel agent before. Anyway I did a little magic then I used an ATM to get cash to pay. Plus I had been looking for some boots in my size here for a few months with no luck (I am size 42 (US 10) and women here go to size 39 (US 8.5)) and on the way to the ATM found a boot store that is manufacturer's outlet and could custom order my size! Miracles are everywhere when I look for them :-)

PS I have been reading a book called Effortless Prosperity - it is a daily inspirational page plus stories on being prosperous from the inside out. It is by someone who ran a Course in Miracles group. Recommended. I also have been listening to the Unlimited Abundance course - more on that another time.

PPS Please let me know how you are doing.

Left and Right brain from the inside out with Jill Bolte

One morning, a blood vessel in Jill Bolte Taylor's brain exploded. As a brain scientist, she realized she had a ringside seat to her own stroke. She watched as her brain functions shut down one by one: motion, speech, memory, self-awareness ...

"How many brain scientists have been able to study the brain from the inside out? I've gotten as much out of this experience of losing my left mind as I have in my entire academic career." Jill Bolte Taylor

Then she realized how large and connected our right side spirit is compared to the separation of the left side ego. And that we all have a choice in every moment which side of our brains to focus on. Which side are you focusing on? Which is more useful in this moment?

Gratitude practice

I made a habit out of reviewing my gratitudes in bed twice a day - just before going to sleep and on waking. It took a few weeks to make it a habit. I not only enjoy doing it, it makes for more relaxed sleep and also I noticed after a month of doing it that I automatically start looking for things I am grateful for during down time in the day. Cool bonus! In addition my life has been flowing smoothly and I think this is partly due to focusing more on what I am grateful for than what is "wrong". I am happier too.

PS If you are in San Francisco check out Cafe Gratitude - all the dishes have positive names like I am Happy, I am Abundant so you get to say that when you order. Then when the server delivers they say You are Happy, You are Abundant. The food it really tasty and healthy raw food that is like no other raw food and salads you have eaten before. They have a recipe book ("I am grateful") if you can't get there in person and want to get a flavor of the place from somewhere else.

Keeping a To Be list (vs To Do list)

This article by Carol Tuttle is a good reminder to focus on who I want to be as well as what I want to do (or even what I want to have)!

I came across a great tool to help with being who I want to be on a daily basis - make a "to-be" list for my day. Just list the states I want to be in across the top of a piece of paper eg love, abundance, patience, calm etc or what ever states you want to be in. Then draw columns down the page and list in them the activities/schedules you have for today under the state you want to experience for that activity. For example if you are taking a bus trip you might list it under patience. Or contacting old clients under abundance.

I learned this idea from a book "Plenty of Time" by Terces Engelhart (of Cafe Gratitude in San Francisco)

How to avoid buying clothes that you later regret and don't wear

Having just sorted though my closets and given away or sold about 24 large bags of clothes that I wasn't wearing or didn't love (or didn't fit) I realized that like many people I buy clothes that I don't wear. Here are some questions from Carol Tuttle article (video below) to ask yourself in the dressing room when you are deciding whether to buy that item.

  • why am I buying this item? Poor reasons include:
    • Am I settling? /tired of shopping and this is good enough
    • want to please the sales person who helped me
    • price a good deal even though I don't really love it
  • how much do I love it? (1-10)
    • greater than cut off number - say at least 7/10
    • check in with my heart on the decision, not my head
  • Functional
    • easy to wear
    • easy to clean
    • fits me well
    • well made
    • Works with other clothes I already have
    • there are many occasions I can wear it
  • Do I already have the same kind of piece at home already?
    • If so enjoy the piece I already have and don't buy another
  • Does it match my Dress my Truth type and coloring?

Here is to a closet where everything I have I love and can wear. And it is easy to put an outfit that I feel wonderful wearing together!

Thanks everyone on Yule Party

I am so happy that so many people enjoyed the party - I sure did too! It all flowed very well for me - not much stress and lots of help. I loved the quarter calling that Nancy and others did. And what a nice supprise to hear Gene playing the piano. I looked up at the basement ceiling when so many people were dancing - and this house is build strong so it can take it! Thanks house. :-)

And thanks to Millie and Pam who came early to help clean up and design the cuddle area which I and others put to good use later in the evening.

And thanks to everyone who was empowered and did what needed doing without asking me. :-)

Yes I did hear and take in how much I have helped others at the party and gatherings - I felt warm inside hearing that. I will continue to be a shining light through my blog and email updates (which people also commented on). I love freedom to be ourselves, expression, sexy/kinky stuff and exploring our new consciousness in 2012

Jaden Miracles tele-session

I just did a Jaden Phoenix activation for Miracles. It is over the phone

Whoa that was powerful stuff. I was getting downloads for about 20 minutes. In addition for an hour prior to the session I felt this "klutz" energy in me that lead to me dropping stuff etc (gone now thank goodness). I worked on grounding the miracle energy in MY 3D (going "low" as Mark Dunn would say) and that seemed to help reduce my body twitching from the downloads.

I like looking for miracles in everyday. Did you know that our cells are full of mitochondria that provide the energy for our bodies and that these microscopic creatures have their own DNA and reproduction - basically they were separate from humans and decided to symbioticly live inside our cells billions of years ago. We also have more friendly bacteria in our guts than "human" cells in our bodies - and without them we could not digest our food.  So as well as telling my body parts and cells that I love them and thanking them for what they do I have done same for the mitochondria and bacteria in my gut. That is a miracle to me!

Afterwards I was full of energy, slept good and woke up happy at 6am

Find the Fun First!

This idea resonated with me and I have listen to many of Carol Looks EFT CDs. Recommended

Find the Fun First?

Just imagine how much abundance
would flow into your life...

I know that there are many events or projects we have to do in our lives that feel like obligations, shoulds and have-tos... It doesn't feel as if we have much of a choice.  So until we are living a life without any shoulds and have-tos, I invite you to Find the Fun First!

So let's say you have to go to a school event for the kids that you don't feel like attending - what do you do?  Instead of grumbling about it, feeling down and resentful, or acting out by being late, Find the Fun First.  Find something about this event that is ok, find something that wouldn't be that bad... find something that would make it tolerable, even fun...

Suppose you have to attend a meeting for work that seems boring, a waste of time, not useful when your list of things to do is so long.  What do you do?  Find the Fun First!  Find a reason to go, find a reason you will learn something, a "because" that will work for you!

It doesn't take long to Find the Fun First, but it does take a little effort.  You need to have it on your mind so you actually do it.

Being inspired to Find the Fun First really mobilizes your positive energy and communicates to the Universe that you're "serious" about fun... if you know what I mean.  And you know that you get what you're looking for, so if you are intent on Finding the Fun First, you will definitely find it.

What's the point of Finding the Fun First? Being inspired to Find the Fun First will help you attract more abundance into your life, but believe it or not, that's not the point!  Finding the Fun First will make your life more enjoyable, make your vibration lighter about your day, help you be "attractive" to higher vibrating experiences.

Remember that spending time and energy on an inspiration such as Finding the Fun First will make you feel better about everything you have to do in your life.  You'll feel better about all the chores, the have-tos and stuff you just can't get out of yet... And yes, in addition, it will help you attract more abundance!

Once again, there are nothing but advantages and positive consequences when you focus and put energy into Finding the Fun First. I can't think of a single "downside" to making the effort to do this.  For those of you who prefer to grumble and complain, beware, this will definitely interrupt that habit... so you may need to tap on how hard it is to give up complaining!

We know that the Universe hears our vibration not our words.  We have all learned from Law of Attraction teachers that we will receive more of what we are "broadcasting" to the Universe.  So get inspired to Find the Fun First - you know your vibration will improve!

Remember that our thoughts are real
and carry energy...

Our vibration matters!

So I invite you to Find the Fun First and enjoy the vibration and the abundance of new miracles you will now be pulling effortlessly into your life.  I recommend taking small steps until you Find and Feel the Fun... otherwise you're asking yourself to make too big of a leap from your "have-to" chore.

(1) Think of the event or project or chore you "have to " do -
(2) Find something about it that's not so bad, not too terrible, not horrible.
(3) Then find something a little better, a little easier.  It might sound like: "at least I'll be able to..."
(4) Then Find the Fun in it... and...
(5) Write about it, looki forward to it, and talk about it out loud!

As Law of Attraction teachers say -- it's all energy.  The Law of Attraction sends you situations that have the same energy and vibration you are putting out... so when you start feeling inspired to Find the Fun First, the Universe will bring you more opportunities for appreciation and more opportunities that actually do feel fun!

It's your choice... Find the Fun First
and enjoy the successes that flow
into your life!

Vagabonding quote from Lavinia Spalding

"Don't think about it too much. Don't make pro and con lists. Pro and con lists are nothing but trouble. If you think about it too much, you'll just end up staying home. … My family and friends often say to me, 'I'm living vicariously through you.' Don't ever live vicariously. This is YOUR life. Live."
